Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer or RealOne Player from Real Networks. Supported are: RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt) and ReadPix (.rp). It also supports RealMedia content that is embedded in webpages. The very user-friendly installation is fully customizable, which means that you can install only those components that you want.
Real Alternative Lite is Real Alternative without Media Player Classic. The text in red does not apply to Real Alternative Lite.
Feature descriptions:- Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 is a full-featured player which has decoding support for RealMedia content.
- RealMedia codecs 12.0.1.301 are required for playing RealMedia movies and audio. RealMedia .smi and .smil files are not fully supported, only the first part of a clip will be played. This is a limitation of the current Media Player Classic.
- RealMedia ActiveX control 12.0.1.301 allows you to view RealMedia content that is embedded in a webpage. The RealMedia ActiveX control supports Internet Explorer. Other programs might also need this component.
- RealMedia Browser plugin 12.0.1.301 allows you to view RealMedia content that is embedded in a webpage. The RealMedia Browser plugin supports Mozilla, Firefox, Seamonkey, Netscape, Opera, Safari and Chrome.
- RealMedia DirectShow splitter 1.3.1268.0 allows you to play RealMedia content in all DirectShow enabled players. Without this splitter RealMedia content can only be played in Media Player Classic.
- RealMedia Settings tool is required for configuring the proper settings used for streaming RealMedia content.
